One such country, and perhaps the one that faces such a crisis in the worst manner, is Venezuela. There is no food in Venezuela. There are no hospitals or medicines in Venezuela. There is no water in Venezuela. Heck, there are no jobs.
When any potential rising leader is given too much power to be placed in check, then this is usually what will happen; in this case, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro swore to protect and uphold his country’s rights and wellbeing all while failing to do so.
He has become quite rich and oppressive, all to the downfall of his country. He should never have been given that much control, for history has shown that this is exactly how communists are made.
Korea’s Kim Jong Un is no different. He came from riches but only cared about gaining further riches all while starving his faithful citizens. Those who cannot help themselves are now in a state of greater need than ever before in all of history as Kim has literally removed every restaurant, store and supermarket or local grocery area from most cities in North Korea. It has been commonly reported and likewise affirmed, even as early as 2014, that the only people who eat, drink and sleep well are those who work for his cruel regime and its government: These include North Korean government officials, soldiers and even some Kim supporters from within.
While certain countries are often left in such a desperate state of powerlessness from within, something can always still be done from without – and it all starts with agencies like the Frontera Fund. These local agencies promote human rights among any people group that needs them the most and thus spread the word, gaining campaign disciples and true activists in turn.
God did, after all, make all human beings equal under Adam, the first man; he thus wants us all to live in peace and harmony with each other. But in countries like Venezuela and North Korea, such a vision is currently only a dream – and one that does not seem anywhere within reach. Let us show the world what’s possible and fight.
