Fight

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin fight through the Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin Frontera Fund. They champion civil right. They champion human rights. They fund migrants rights and more.

In fact, if it were not for the diligent efforts of foundations like these, then many would likewise question the sane future of any society – especially in its political or civil rights altogether. When it comes to fighting for the truth and not staying as another powerless voice, the choice then becomes clearer than diamonds in the sun on a hot day: We must fight, and we must then fight some more.

What’s happening in many countries is no less than oppressive or heartbreaking; the rights of many citizens are violated every day, and the citizens themselves can usually not do something about it. It’s the saddest reality to witness. One such country, and perhaps the one that faces such a crisis in the worst manner, is Venezuela. There is no food in Venezuela. There are no hospitals or medicines in Venezuela. There is no water in Venezuela. Heck, there are no jobs.

When any potential rising leader is given too much power to be placed in check, then this is usually what will happen; in this case, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro swore to protect and uphold his country’s rights and wellbeing all while failing to do so.

He has become quite rich and oppressive, all to the downfall of his country. He should never have been given that much control, for history has shown that this is exactly how communists are made.

Korea’s Kim Jong Un is no different. He came from riches but only cared about gaining further riches all while starving his faithful citizens. Those who cannot help themselves are now in a state of greater need than ever before in all of history as Kim has literally removed every restaurant, store and supermarket or local grocery area from most cities in North Korea. It has been commonly reported and likewise affirmed, even as early as 2014, that the only people who eat, drink and sleep well are those who work for his cruel regime and its government: These include North Korean government officials, soldiers and even some Kim supporters from within.

While certain countries are often left in such a desperate state of powerlessness from within, something can always still be done from without – and it all starts with agencies like the Frontera Fund. These local agencies promote human rights among any people group that needs them the most and thus spread the word, gaining campaign disciples and true activists in turn.

God did, after all, make all human beings equal under Adam, the first man; he thus wants us all to live in peace and harmony with each other. But in countries like Venezuela and North Korea, such a vision is currently only a dream – and one that does not seem anywhere within reach. Let us show the world what’s possible and fight.

Front Page Confidential Intends to Stop Arpaio’s Senate Run

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are best known for their incident with Joe Arpaio in 2007. But, they are also the former co-owners of Village Voice Media and the Phoenix New Times. They currently own and operate The Frontera Fund, a charitable organization that funds a variety of Arizona charities, and Front Page Confidential, their newest journalistic effort.

They switched their career focus after the lawsuit they won against Joe Arpaio and Maricopa County, Arizona. They sold their previous paper, Phoenix New Times and took a more altruistic approach to their public services. They created The Frontera Fund to assist the Hispanic community. Latinos and immigrants were the targets of Joe Arpaio during his 24 reign as Sheriff, so Lacey and Larkin are assisting them in anyway they can.

In July of 2017, stemming from another illegal arrest committed by Joe Arpaio, he was convicted of criminal contempt of court. A month later Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin created Front Page Confidential. They intended to continue their efforts and focus on different corrupt politicians, but Donald Trump stopped them in their tracks in October. Trump pardoned Joe Arpaio.

Now Arpaio is running for a U.S. Senate seat, and Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are back to using their journalism skills to try to stop him. Arpaio recently made the announcement that he will reopen a case into the birth certificate of former President Obama when he is elected to the Senate. This shows that Arpaio’s racist ideologies are still the same. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are working hard to prevent him from taking office again.
