Performing more than 7,000 prostate surgeries, of all his patients, a total of 90 percent are free from cancer. Dr. David Samadi, the current Chief of Robotic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY, has quite the inspiring story.Dr. David Samadi knew at an early age he wanted to be in the medical field. Born in Iran, immediately after the Iranian Revolution, he experience a separation from his parents and was sent to and raised in Belgium. After receiving his medical education he spent a long time learning and performing the traditional prostate surgery on patients. He later learned how doctors in France were using laparoscopic surgical procedures and using robots to enhance patient treatments. He slightly doubted in the start of his medical career his ability to work in the medical field.

The process to him was extremely slow, as he wanted to help with much more expedient care. He learned the flow and how to manage it, overcoming by realizing that the people he so desperately wants to help will get the help in due time. He recommends a book called “Anything is possible,” by Elizabeth Stout. This book he encourages people to read as it helps individuals push through tough challenges, especially in the business world.He began to really venture out doing his own business ideas when SMART became a reality. Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Treatment, is a technique that Dr. David Samadi uses to treat his patients. This technique excites the men needing prostate surgery about undergoing this procedure as it avoids the usual detrimental side effects of incontinence and impotence usually found in the traditional prostate procedure.
